- Q: Can I replace my two prong outlets with three prong outlets?
A: Yes it is possible to use a GFCI receptacle (like the square one on your kitchen counter with the reset button in the center) or a GFCI circuit breaker can be used in the circuit.
- Q: Why do my lights dim momentarily when a major appliance starts up?
A: The lights dim because the appliance's motor draws a lot of power when starting but this is perfectly normal unless the lights stay dim.
- Q: Is my fuse box safe?
A: Fuses are very safe when used as designed. Fuses become unsafe when they are purposely overloaded or a higher than specified fuse size is used.
- Q: Why does my microwave oven occasionally trip the circuit breaker?
A: The circuit is marginally overloaded; it trips when other kitchen appliances are drawing power at the same time the microwave is on. Call RMSPOWER 954-263-8672 to install a separate circuit for the microwave.
- Q: Can I replace an existing light fixture with a ceiling fan/light?
A: The only prerequisite is that an electrical box is installed in the ceiling that is approved to support the added weight of the new fan.

Save Up To 75% On Your Energy Costs
Most people know that one of the major pieces of their monthly electric bill is light bulbs.
Check your lighting habits in your home. The odds are that you frequently leave lights on in unoccupied rooms. If you can, make a habit of turning lights off whenever you leave a room.
(Oops! I just noticed that, while I'm at my computer typing this, I left 2 lights on in my living room. I'll be right back...)
Now there's another very simple way to reduce your lighting costs. At the same time, with no extra effort, you can make a contribution to helping fight global warming by reducing your "carbon footprint"...amount of non-renewable energy you use every day.
"As Easy As
Changing a Light Bulb"
Every light bulb in your home, your garage, your workshop can be replaced by one of those funny-looking spiral fluorescent bulbs. They can give off the same amount of light as your 60- or 100-watt bulb using 1/4 of the electricity.
That's an immediate saving in every electric bill you receive.
Want more benefits? The fluorescent bulbs last about 10 times as long as conventional incandescent bulbs. In most cases, you can screw them in, and then forget about them.
Watch for a sale on the fluorescent bulbs at your supermarket, hardware store, or super drug store, and stock up. First, count the number of bulbs you're going to replace to avoid over-buying because you may never need to replace another bulb.

If you're not sure, ask the pros at RMSPOWER
“Why do my lights dim when one of my major appliances starts up?”
Not to worry. When a refrigerator, dishwasher or clothes dryer starts up, it makes a brief but heavy power demand. It’s a perfectly normal event. If your lights stay dim, though, an electrician should be called. There may be a problem that we can detect and fix.

“Why does my microwave, or other small appliance, occasionally trip my circuit breaker?”
If an electric circuit is already carrying a near-maximum electrical load, the breaker will trip when the next appliance comes on. Too many appliances are drawing power at the same time. This is an important safety feature built in to your electrical system. One solution: Call RMSPOWER to install a separate circuit for some of the small appliances.

“IS MY FUSE BOX SERVICE PANEL SAFE?”
Fuse boxes are very safe when they are used as designed. Don’t ever bypass breakers or fuses. Make sure that replacement breakers and fuses are the correct wattage/amperage/voltage. Fuses and breakers can become unsafe when they are purposely overloaded or a higher than specified breaker or fuse is installed.
